In March, we turn our attention to the Easter Vigil, the culmination of the Triduum and the celebration of one of the central mysteries of our faith: the Resurrection. The Vigil leads us from darkness to light, through key stories of salvation history, through the renewal of baptismal promises and the celebration of the Eucharist, re-invigorating our Christian response to God's invitation to a life of grace.
Never been to the Easter Vigil? Yes, it is a longer liturgy, but one rich in meaning, symbol, ritual and story and definitely worthwhile. Check this Overview of the Easter Vigil for a short preview of what to expect. If you'd like to spend some time with the readings, open this link readings for the vigil (there's a lot of them).
Not finished with Lent? Here are a few prayers and reflections on some of the readings we'll be hearing in the last few weeks of Lent.
At the heart of the feast is the celebration of the Resurrection--what is this mystery of our faith all about? I recommend reading insights into the meaning of the resurrection, and the entries in the Catechism (in the search box, type in 638, then click "read more"). Finally, there's a few additional links included to the left to check out if you have additional interest or time.
