Knights are Catholic men, 18 years of age and older, who are committed to
making their community a better place, while supporting their Church. Being
a Knight is more than camaraderie; it is being involved with your community;
it is supporting your local Catholic Church, while enhancing your own faith
and setting a good faith example; it is about protecting and enhancing your
family life. You can volunteer as much as you like or as little and on
your own schedule. If you want to find out more, contact John Perigaut

Communications
Collection
This annual
campaign affords us the opportunity to continue the mission of bringing the
word of God to a world longing to hear it. The media in today’s society is a
powerful influence and this is one opportunity for the Church to share the
Good News of the Lord with the world around us. As you may, or may not know,
half of this collection is sent to the US Conference of Catholic Bishops to
support many activities in the field of communications carried on by the
national conference. The other half remains in the Archdiocese to support
the efforts we are making to communicate the message of the gospel here in
the Archdiocese. Your support of this collection will help those initiatives
that we are confident will aid the mission of the Church locally.
Stewardship
Reflection
"Do not let your
hearts be troubled or afraid."
(John 14:27)
When we let the
daily pressures of life trouble us we begin to believe that we are
responsible for taking care of everything. This causes us to frantically
cling to both our time and treasure. Yet, Jesus tells us not to be troubled
or afraid. Take a deep breath and place your trust in God. When you do, you
can be a better steward of all that God has placed in your care
Neighbors in Need
is in Need
The annual Post
Office food drive is coming on Saturday, May 12. Letter Carriers will
conduct the nation’s largest food drive to combat hunger in all 50 states
and U.S. jurisdictions. On that day, letter carriers will collect
non-perishable donations as they deliver mail along their postal routes.
The 15th annual
NALC National Food Drive is the largest one-day food drive in the nation.
Carriers collected 70.5 million pounds of food in the 2006 drive, the third
consecutive year the effort has exceeded 70 million pounds.
Letter carriers see hungry
families every day as they deliver the mail, "This food drive is one way we
can help alleviate their plight and we encourage our postal patrons to
participate by leaving donations by their mailbox on May 12. "For the
poor and hungry, the upcoming summer months are a particularly critical time
for millions of children whose school lunch programs are suspended until
fall and their families must find alternate sources of nutrition."
Residents will be asked to leave
non-perishable donations—such as canned meat, fish and soup, and cereals,
pasta and rice—in a bag near their mailbox on Saturday, May 12 before their
letter carrier arrives. It will be taken to the local post office and then
delivered to a local food bank, pantry or shelter. Neighbors In Need
receives food from the Andover and Lawrence Post Offices.
We are also
looking for volunteers to help with the food…
we receive about
15,000 pounds in that one day. So, if any of your groups are interested in
helping either on Sat, May 12 in the afternoon…or days following (it takes
weeks to get all the food put away), please have them contact me.
Thank you and
many blessings,

On Wednesday, May

of St. Peregrine at the Immaculate Conception Church on East Merrimack

BABY BOTTLES TO
HONOR MOTHERHOOD!
After the mass
today, we will be distributing baby bottles from The Pregnancy Care Center
of The Merrimack Valley & Southern New Hampshire (PCC). Please take one per
family.
We are asking
that you take the bottles home. As a family, fill them with checks (made
payable to PCC), cash or coins, and return them to the church no later than
Sunday, June 10th. As you will see from the insert inside the
bottle, you may list the name and address of a special mother you wish to
honor. The PCC will send a card to her showing that you have made a gift for
life in her honor.
The Baby Bottle
Campaign is used to fund Pregnancy Care Center programs that provide sexual
integrity education, help women in crisis pregnancies with positive
alternatives to abortion and offer post abortion recovery. For Mothers Day
this is your opportunity to partner with your local ‘home town mission’ as
they honor motherhood and celebrate God’s gift of LIFE

SCRIPTURE
READINGS FOR THE SEVENTH SUNDAY OF EASTER "C"
A reading from the Acts of the
Apostles 7:55-60
Stephen, filled with the Holy
Spirit, looked up intently to heaven and saw the glory of God and Jesus
standing at the right hand of God, and Stephen said, "Behold, I see the
heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God." But
they cried out in a loud voice, covered their ears, and rushed upon him
together. They threw him out of the city, and began to stone him. The
witnesses laid down their cloaks at the feet of a young man named Saul. As
they were stoning Stephen, he called out, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit."
Then he fell to his knees and cried out in a loud voice, "Lord, do not hold
this sin against them;"and when he said this, he fell asleep.
A reading from the Book of
Revelation 22:12-14, 16-17, 20
I, John, heard a voice saying to
me: "Behold, I am coming soon. I bring with me the recompense I will give to
each according to his deeds. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the
last, the beginning and the end." Blessed are they who wash their robes so
as to have the right to the tree of life and enter the city through its
gates. "I, Jesus, sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches.
I am the root and offspring of David, the bright morning star." The Spirit
and the bride say, "Come." Let the hearer say, "Come." Let the one who
thirsts come forward, and the one who wants it receive the gift of
life-giving water.
The one who gives this testimony
says, "Yes, I am coming soon." Amen! Come, Lord
+ A reading from the holy Gospel
according to John 17:20-26
Lifting up his eyes to heaven,
Jesus prayed saying: "Holy Father, I pray not only for them, but also for
those who will believe in me through their word, so that they may all be
one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you,
that they also may be in us, that
the world may believe that you sent me. And I have given them the glory you
gave me, so that they may be one, as we are one, I in them and you in me,
that they may be brought to perfection as one, that the world may know that
you sent me, and that you loved them even as you loved me.
Father, they are your gift to me.
I wish that where I am they also may be with me, that they may see my glory
that you gave me, because you loved me before the foundation of the world.
Righteous Father, the world also does not know you, but I know you, and they
know that you sent me. I made known to them your name and I will make it
known, that the love with which you loved me may be in them and I in them."
